Ebenezer Lovering

In the French and Indian Wars Ebenezer enlisted in Anthony Towle's 4thCo., Thomas Tash's battalion (Tas was from Durham, NH). 250 menu wereposted at Fort No. 4 at Charlestown, NH for the defense of Fort Edwardafter the Crown Point Expedition. He was on the Muster Roll of JohnGilman's Co. of 91 men in pursuit of the Indians who killed Col.Hilton after the Port Royal expedition, August 16, 1710 (Samuel was inthe same regiment). He bought land from Benjamin Shaw and JosephSewell, Jr. in 1713. His eldest child was born in the home of DeaconSamuel Shaw and the local gossip said the the child's father was thedeacon. The deacon called Ebenezer "kinsman". Ebenezer's will ofNovember 15, 1734--March 4, 1723 names 4 children, a fifth unborn.(William Lovering)
