Anthony Haskins Jr.

History of Washington County, New York - "Anthony Haskins came fromShaftesbury, Vermont, to Fort Ann in 1788. Settled near Thompson's. Ofhis children, Seth was murdered in Saratoga county; John was aMethodist minister, and with Isaac, went to western New York; Williamand David settled in Chautauqua; Ira went to Clinton county, andafterwards to Chautauqua; Franklin lived on the homestead; Marthabecame Mrs. Samuel Winegar, of Fort Ann; and Sarah died on the day shewas to have been married. Franklin had ten children; one died inchildhood; the other nine are still living, the youngest being sixtyyears old. Anthony, Samuel, Ensign and Martha Thompson, of this town,are four of these children." In 1795, Anthony was on the list ofelectors who did not possess a freehold, but was renting tenements ofthe yearly value of forty shillings, and thereby qualified to vote forassemblymen
