Hi;
Visited your genealogy page and noticed you have the Shelgren name...looked to see where yours originated and when. My maiden name wasShelgreen, but in our family there are many variations. All the familyis from Sweden desc. of Benjamin Andreasson Kjellgren. Many havechanged the name to Shelgren, Shelgreen, some Chelgren and someChelgreen. Many also have kept the Kjellgren. My father was EdwardShelgreen born in Dagus, Elk Co. PA to Henning Hjalmar Kjellgren. Hementioned to me when I started doing this research that there wereother Shelgren's in Elk Co Pa and Chautauqua Co, NY (Jamestown) thatwere not related to us. I spoke with one man from Jamestown NY on thephone who proved to be of no relation. As I looked back through yourgenealogy and saw that some came from Chautauqua CO....thought maybethere might be a connection. Jamestown was settled early by a greatmany Swedes..(they didn't start migrating there until the mid-late1800's. Many of my Stones and Grays from Chautauqua Co. went to Iowaalso. Well, maybe there may be a relationship somewhere. I knowthose Swedish names changed often and its hard to trace backwards.Let me know if you think there is a connection and I may be able tocheck into some things for you. I live in Rochester, NY.
