Lovrien genealogist Michelle Lovrien Slabaugh has started a new project in one of most exciting new areas of genealogy: Genetic Genealogy! The project, operated through FamilyTreeDNA.com, collects samples using simple “cheek scraper” DNA kits, and provides you with paternal markers (Y-DNA), maternal markers (mitochondrial DNA) or both. The goal of the project is to ultimately connect our current American generations with our ancestors in England and our cousins around the world.
The project is seeking data for the paternal line only at this time; therefore, you must be a male Lovrien to participate. FamilyTreeDNA.com is offering a significant group discount on their products as part of our project. The 37-marker test (normally $259) is only $149. Please click here to join the project and order your test kit!
I am a Lovering born Joan Caryl Lovering in 1935. My Dad was Wentworth R. Lovering born in Raymond WA in 1910. I have just discovered your website and wonder if we are connected? It doesn’t look like it but one never knows. I have a box of Dad’s genealogy Papers and will get it out and look it over. A cousin, Vicki Lovering, has written asking me about her father, Joseph Lovering, my Dad’s youngest brother and that has opened Pandora’s box. Any info would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance. Joan
